When the original NIKE Shox’s were unveiled in 2001, three different models were available. The NIKE Shox R4 was one of them. As described by NIKE The principle behind Shox technology is simple. “When the heel strikes the ground, the Shox columns absorb the energy of the strike and compress like a spring, which bounces back and returns the energy to the wearer as they transfer their weight to the forefoot in preparation for the next stride.” Simple RIGHT? Basically the shox acts like a spring, it puts a little bounce in your step. Personally I have had three different pairs of Shox’s myself and have had no complaints! Out of all the Shox running shoes the R4 has supposedly been the most popular and successful with serious runners. I would have to say that my favorite added bonus about this shoe is that it brings a small arc support insert that you can place under the insole if your like me any bit of added support helps.
